A VPN (Virtual Private Network) encrypts your data when you’re connected to Wi-Fi, hiding your search history and location to give you privacy on both private/public networks. VPNs will cloak your IP address with one of their own, making yours unknown to lurkers on the web and therefore much harder to hack.

You can look for many VPN services on the web and choose which suits you best.

Here are some tips to keep in mind:

• Do your research and look over Privacy Policies to see what data your VPN collects and how you will be protected.
• Check out free VPN options that may work for you – ProtonVPN, TunnelBear VPN, and Hotspot Shield VPN are great places to start. You can also buy one to increase speed, performance, and bandwidth.
• Stay vigilant and continue to use other safety measures while using a VPN, like two-factor authentication, strong passwords, and virus detection software.
